"Touching the lives of children and families one by one"
OUR HISTORY
AVCYFS is a twenty-two year old non-profit organization birthed out of the state of California. Founded by Eddie L. Tucker, a child advocate and social worker for over thirty years. AVCYFS, formerly known as Teens World Group Home, Inc. initially provided child-placing services, exclusively, for Residential Group Home placement of at-risk male youth between the ages of 13 – 18 years.
Over the years Eddie has dedicated his life to serving children, youth and families in the areas of residential group home care; foster care; family reunification; child and family counseling; mentoring; child care; and family development. Today, in collaboration with his wife, Brenda Barnes-Tucker, a social services administrator in the areas of child abuse prevention; foster care; family reunification; family development; early childhood development; child care; and program development, he continues to serve children and families in the state of Texas.
Today, AVCYFS endeavors to assist the Texas Department of Family & Protective Services in the effort to achieve the goals of permanency planning for children between the ages of 0-17 years who are in the care of Texas Department of Family & Protective Services and those children in the care of their biological families, as well.
